What's the beat route to take from Albany NY to St Albans VT? Will be going empty up North and than loaded at gross to Chicago.

A quick look at a map seems to indicate that these would work...
87N to
11W to
Rte 2S to
89N
@KillingTime for any other advice - it has been a few years since I’ve been across 11/2 in a car, and I don’t recall any low bridges, but....double check to be sure.
I guess the other option would be:
87N to
4E to
7N to
89N
I haven’t been up there in quite a while either, so though I don’t know of any restrictions on 4 (on the west side of 7, east of 7 is by permit only) or 7 itself, double check.
You could always run 90 east, to 91 north, to 89 north, and that way you’re on an interstate the whole way...Last edited: Feb 28, 2018

Ticonderoga Bridge across to VT? haven't Been up 87 north of Glens Falls in years

We run (13'-6" x 53') I-87 to NY-149 to US-4 to VT-22A to US-7 to I-189 to I-89 to exit 19
There's not much in the way of truck stops or parking spots on that route except for Maplefields at VT-22A and VT-74 near Shoreham, VT. There's also a truck stop at I-89 xt 19 at St Albans
then, back west from St Albans ..
I-89 north to VT-78 to US-2 to US-11 to I-781 to I-81 ...Last edited: Feb 28, 2018
