Best route between St Louis MO and Cedar Rapids IA

Actually you d take US 61 to Wayland, MO then keep straight on MO 27, IA 27, US 218, I 380. Taking US 61 to US 218 will put you over in Keokuk

 

I used to be a Fargo based beer hauler in the late 80s and ran st Louis at least 2 turns a week on old 218 and 61 .
They guy that trained me on it told me " she's hilly , narrow , curvy and rough but other than that she's a good road "
I still like looking over at the old toll bridge at st. Francisville and where the old road was .
Back then that road was mostly beer haulers , banana haulers and wal mart trucks .

Anyone here remember when 218 was detoured thru dunkerton and readlyn ia when they were rebuilding 218 thru Waterloo ?

 

I make that run frequently. 61 to 218 to 380. Something like that. It is peaches n cake.
