Hi there,
I'm sorry if there are any threads already available - I've been scouring a bit, and cannot find anything relavent to my question. Any direction is welcome!
I'm a young guy (23) that can't figure out what he wants to do. I've tried white-collar junk, but I just can't seem to fit the mold. That being said, I do not have a lot of money to spend, and my fiance has cancer - ergo, why I am looking at any and all good paid CDL training programs. Everybody I ask tells me to do something white-collar and stick it out - except for all of my friends in blue-collar professions... Especially transportation and the like. Point is, I'm not getting any decent input in my real life.
I've been online for a few hours reading about Mister P being fine, as well as Jim Palmer, and Old Dominion. All of that being said, if there are any veterans out there who have any recommendations so I don't dig myself a hole, throw them at me!
For context, I am in Colorado. My uncle went through with C.R. England... and made me swear I'd avoid them.
I've read both good and bad things about everybody aforementioned... So is there anyone out there with a defintive answer on who's good (and bad) in the world of paid training?
If it also helps anybody willing to assist me, I've almost completed two college degrees, and I'd consider myself smarter than average. Before the "apparently not" comments about going into trucking... I grew up in the South working on several farms - my family's and others - so I am very used to labourous jobs. I've genuinely tried the whole "office" thing... It's just not for me. Being a driver seems really appealing to me, and so I'd really appreciate any advice y'all have to give concerning good paid CDL training (and bonus points if they're good to work for AFTER your training as well!).
Best paid CDL training for a new, young idiot?
