Hi there, new to this board and hoping to get some good advice. My boyfriend recently returned to what he loves - driving a truck for a living. It's great seeing how happy it makes him. His schedule is home nights and he's up sometimes middle of the night and on the road but loves it.
Anyway, I'd really like to get him a couple of things that would be helpful to him on the road. Since he's home every afternoon, he doesn't need anything for overnights.
One of the things I'd like to get him would be a combo cooler/warmer (he likes his soda and coffee) but the reviews I've read so far on other sites have been mixed at best.
Also, is there any kind of small, portable microwave that would be good?
And if there's anything else that people have found useful, I'd love to hear suggestions. He already has a good GPS, cell phone w/internet, etc. so he's all set with that. Thanks!

SHC Thanks this. -
He has his portable coffee containers (has a ton) and he seems to love them. He has a couple of good thermoses but he likes the single serve ones you sip out of that you can re-heat, in fact, I bought one for a Christmas gift for someone else and he liked it so much, he grabbed it for himself, lol

XM Radio is a must have imho. You can get an XM receiver for as little as $30. Or a mid priced one for about $80. Which is what I have. The subscription is about $15 monthly or you can get annual for about $100 its the best thing ever invented for long haul truckin! Merry Christmas

Is the XM radio something that can be docked at home as well? He is using some app on his Droid cell phone that's really cool but obviously it's only as good as when he's not texting or talking on the phone (at home I mean, not while driving!)
He did show interest in having something like that but I didn't know too much about it. $15/mo. sounds pretty reasonable. -
XM/sirius has a lot of different packages available. And yes they have several options for listening at home/vehicle. I believe the website is www.xmradio.com.

That's great, thanks! I will definitely check that out. I know it would be something he'd get a lot of use out of both home and on the road. I get nervous on days when he didn't get enough sleep so this would help I think.
