I'm looking to buy another used semi here soon and I'm most comfortable with anything with a Cummings isx however I have been running across many trucks with c-12, c-13, c-15, 6nz, (3406b, 3406e) although with the 3406 engines I haven't heard anything good so I'll probably pass on those but what about the c12 thru c15 are they good engines I'm looking for a reliable cat engine along the lines of the cumming isx. (Decent fuel mileage, power and reliability) please help I don't want to ignorantly pass on a good cat engine?
Best cat engine to purchase in used semi?

I am happy with my 3406B. Get 6.5 mpg constantly. Cheap to work on and NO ELECTRONICS that's what I like about it!

You must not get out much if you don't hear anything good about the 3406's.
