Hey, so I was trying to turn around because there was line of container truckers in front of me and they were not moving at all. I think they were all turning into their terminal and were taking turns. So I pulled in the drive way of another business partially and turned around but I bent my cab extender doing it. The frame isn’t twisted how it is when other people bend theirs, it’s more like one long kind of crease. Will a rubber mallet get it out?
Bent my cab extender today, any way to fix it myself?

OMG, you'll be put out of service for that, at least 34 hours.
Seriously it is nothing. Bend it back, A rubber mallet may not work on the bracket.Chinatown Thanks this. -
,,did anyone else see? You can give it a whack, but it may make it look worse. I'd get 3 buddies, and bend it back some, or a load bar maybe, but I've seen much worse. Just hope the boss isn't watching,,

You go to smacking on it with a rubber mallet it’s going to leave ripples in it. The best way to fix it is take it off and lay it on a flat metal surface and lay a long piece of metal on the crease and pound it back ..
No matter what you do it will always be noticeable you have stretched the metal
Personally I would leave it alone and just own up to it and let your company’s shop fix it they can fix it easer like that than after you have tried to molest itclassic_150, 25(2)+2, Bud A. and 5 others Thank this. -
Beating on it with a hammer without anything flat on the other side is only going to bend it at the weakest spot, and that likely won’t be where it’s bent in. I agree you should just admit your mistake and let them fix their truck properly.
Edit: In the last pic you can see paint cracking from the bend, that means you’re dealing with a couple different bends on that bracket alone. You may be able to get that bracket somewhat straight but the fairing itself will still have a crease in it.classic_150, SoulScream84, gentleroger and 3 others Thank this. -
Go to harbor freight and get a 2’ adjustable wrench and a dead blow hammer

Don't bend your cab extenders and you won't have this problem.
It will never be like it was, and trying to fix it is going to make it a lot more noticeable. -
It's fiberglass on a metal frame, so no, hitting it with a hammer won't work.

Next time don’t post photographic evidence alongside confessions on a public forum….
