Bendix air dryer

    There is what looks to be a keyway at the bottom of the threads. There's an O-ring in the new filter box (TRP p/n AC1001) that will fit over those threads and snug up against the base but it will absolutely obstruct that keyway just a little. What's the purpose for the keyway?
    The thread title should say, Bendix.

    Air flow. The o-ring will expand when you screw the filter onto the base. Put it on see how it works. You should be fine

    No small oring from the factory on ADIS. Throw it away. Lube seal on filter and put it on.

    Someone had previously installed the old O-ring. Could it have done any damage?
