Anyone have experience with the NAPA version of the Bendix RDU tool?

Price diff is substantial. Lowest price I can find for the RDU is ~ $200. The NAPA unit is ~$100

    It is useless thing, IMO.

If u have any adapter, like Nexiq, DPA, Inline, Volvo VOCOM, Knorr UDIF ore any othe RP1210 u can use Bendix and Knorr bremse diagnostic software to read/clean codes and do reprogramming.

    Keith,
If you have a Bendix ABD/TC controller, most have led's on the controller for diagnostics. The EC-30 has a volt led, ECU led, wheel sensor led's and maybe a couple other.

I also posted a review on the Launch CR-HD on here. If you go back a little you will find it. So far it has read all of the ABS brake systems I have tried including the Merritor-Wabco and Bendix, and data streams. It is by no means a full blown scanner, but we have been able to scan every truck we have now, and clear codes, and fix a few things we didn't even know about. It did say it will graph 4 sensors at once, but so far only been able to do it with one. But it will do the brakes, engines and the early auto-shift transmissions. No idea on the later stuff. Haven't had time to go up to a friends shop and try on some of the newer trucks, but this thing is for sure a go to for finding problems and getting you in the right direction fast.

    Let me disagree.

Chenese universal scaners are not so good.

Much better to get Deaborn DPA-5 ore USB-Link 2 and use genue software.

Pablo... Bendix oem diagnostic software has repeatedly FAILED to even correctly identify which version of the Ec30 is in my truck. The bendix software id's my unit as a three plug abs/atc when in fact my unit is a four plug abs/atc/esp system. This causes a couple of problems. None of the testing functions work and considering several important wiring differences between the two the oem software is no better than the plug in led scan tool on my truck.

Lets assume thats true.... I'm going to point out that if the oem software is so poorly developed that a datalink failure would mis-id a system and not show a datalink fault then it doesnt speak well of your recommendation.

My guess is its a bug in some releases of the software.

Ok, I know about some software problems, that's why I use previouse versions of Bendix and Knorr software.

I have Knorr ECU talk of 2010 version. It supports nearly all ABS-EBS systems I can see on road.

It is normal that newer software got new problems and they renew it with debuged versions.

For example, in 2009 daimler had version of DAS that ruined instrumental clusters of Actros trucks if u try to add languages!

    Later in 2010 problem dissapeared

Pablo, I agree, a large scanner is the best way to go, or a laptop with a data link connector. But many of us smaller guys just need something to get us in the right direction, read and clear codes and data streams. So far the Launch has done more than I wanted, and allowed me to work on the 4 trucks I have, and gives me enough information so I can fix stuff and get back on the road. 130.00 versus 3000.00.Matco, NAPA and Mac tools rebrand the same tool as their own. Matco and Napa ones are like 500.00 though.

I tried an OTC and agree, was not too good. This one actually does pretty much what it says.
