I roll through PA to Rochester on 90 a couple times a week. I'll holler for Muddy Ducks once I'm hooked up.

Fair enough, you will find that rabbiporkchop brings alot of good information to the forum but when it comes to radio tuning and cb shops he will only speak highly of Mark Sherman and he is the only one that will touch his radios, and I guess with years of trial and error, he has good reason. I hear Harddrive(aka. mark sherman) on skip all the time and he sounds excellent, 2nd to none, but currently he is out in New Mexico and I dont believe he sells radios like Bells or Walcott, so if you have done your research and are convinced that Bells is worth the investment go for it and if he is backed up a week to fill orders that tells me alot of other cbers feel confident about his work as well.

Time will tell. When the 98vhp gets to me I will be pairing it with a Sirio P5000 3/8 and will have a local shop help me install the radio and tune the antenna. If I am unable to get any good dx reports then I'll seek more help. I won't settle, and I'll learn some things in the mean time. I guess I'm just a bit intolerant of condescension.

No offense but you guys that think 10 meter radios are the best really need to go to a key down comp and see they use unidens and Cobras, heck for what a 98 costs you could have a cobra and at least a real 1by4 pill amp fatboy or davemade.Dont hate just trying to educate.

    darthanubis Thanks this.

I'm actually interested in 10m and side band, not just having a big cb radio. And as a noob I think an all in one is the best/easiest way to get my toes wet. The cost of the 98 isn't hurting me.

Watch "Cobra 29LX Tune up Report" on YouTube

Here is a typical example of Bell's work as demonstrated by the man himself. 20 watts carrier hundred and fifty Watts Peak
For a peak to carrier ratio of 7.5 to 1.
At a hundred percent modulation the peak to carrier ratio is 4 to 1.
Since he doesn't have a spectrum analyzer to show you all the harmonics he is generating he is unable to eliminate those harmonics because he cannot see them.

That's actually an atypical example. Nearly all of his 98vhp tune ups are set at about 60w dk and right around 250 peak.

It seems you have some sort of grudge against this guy.
