I took my hazmat, passenger, doubles/triples and tanker endorsement tests on January 31st. I found a job driving tankers and needed to remove my passenger permit since I do not need it anymore. The lady at DMV removed the passanger endorsement permit and issued me a tanker endorsement permit stating that I needed to take a behind the wheel test for that endorsement. With the new laws in effect yesterday, is this something new? I haven't found any information online stating that we need to take a behind the wheel to add a tanker endorsement.

Sounds like that lady got confused. You only need to a behind the wheel test if you're getting Hazmat, School bus or passenger. Says nothing about tanker.

You may want to check to make sure your state doesn't have any extra requirements too.Jcontr32 Thanks this. -
OK, I already have Tanker and Doubles endorsements. Wanted to get Hazmat out of GP and just haven't gotten the needed roundtuit yet.
So, does the new laws mean I can no longer just go take the test and get fingerprinted for the background check? Do I now have to go to some certified training and take an additional road test to add the H endorsement? -
Why drop the passenger endorsement?
You don't want it now sure, but what if a killer job shows up in 1,5 or 10 years. Never drop an endorsement that is any harder than a paper test to get back.snowmantrucking101, kemosabi49 and Jcontr32 Thank this. -
