I've been oilfield trucking for past 5 years...have $30+ saved up have talked to a few small companies that will lease me on under they're insurance/dot number... What tips should I know? I'm a vacuum truck driver..looking to buy a 15-20,000$ truck..and either lease a trailer or buy a belly dump/or flat bed....cash $10,000, I'm in west Texas...

West Texas is tough. good place to get a driver job if you're inexperienced or illegal. not so good for an O/O. old boy network big time. I'd look at North Dakota first if you really want to play the oilfield game. just keep in mind as one driver one truck you WILL be on call 24/7 and that phone will always ring at the most inopportune moments.

Yep but you can lose your butt in ND to if you get your foot in your golden but its a trick but you can do good if you lease to a good outfit but thats harder to find as well now days as they have now taken swift biz model to heart.
