Be warned about Altom Transport

    Just a fair warning about Altom Transport , do not work for them. For starters they’re based out of Chicago but there HQ is based out of Hammond IN that should say it all. Where do I start they tell you you get paid percentage rate which you do but there’s no Visible evidence of what the load pays or what you made on the load until you deliver the load and after you get your paystub in the mail .( if your OTR you probably would never know ) . Then you got a new terminal that plays great with the drivers but has his office personnelthat use to work for him before in the company. (Nepotism hope you guys are following where I’m going with this) Then you got dispatch that can hold any type of intelligence and call the customer before you head out to do a load and stay over the weekend in a place you don’t want to be. The Equipment looks nice from the outside but don’t be surprised if your missing equipment in your truck cause when they hand you a truck it’s either missing fittings and rags and most important buckets to do the job. If you break down your on your own and good luck finding dispatch at night or on the weekends . My experience with this company just save yourself the headaches and time and steer away guys I promise I won’t steer you wrong .. be safe truckers

    i had to go to the hospital for some x-rays 2 weeks ago.

    i needed a copy of those x-rays.

    i called the x-ray dept..

    to my chagrin, the x-ray office is NOT LOCATED at the hospital, but 3 city streets over...!!

    OMFG...what does that tell me...??????

    is the hospital on the up and up..??

    are the x-rays i got, really mine, or someone else's..????

    i guess i should be glad, the x-ray office wasn't in Hammond, IN..????

    Like its next door neighbor (Gary) Hammond has a high crime rate. I lived there from 2005 to 2006,and even then, it was a rough town.

    On the brightside they arent one of the Typical Flip-Flop 1099 Chicago area companies.

    North Hammond is a dump, South Hammond is not.

    eh the whole nw corner of indiana needs to be lopped off. i’m a born and raised hoosier, i feel i have the right to say it. every state has an armpit, that area is ours. i grew up rurally, an uncle rico’s throw from kentucky. i’m not a fan of big cities any #### way.

    Neither South or North Hammond likes trucks.

    "No truck parking."
    "Trucks keep right. No passing"

    Why don't they just use ONE sign with a clear message:

    "VEHICLES OVER 10 TONS GVWR DROP YOUR $#!^ AND GET OUT"!
