well, i live in a rather nice area, i do not wanna see big trucks parked around here.

    so good for them.

keep them out of the neighborhoods, and park them in storage yards, tow yards, industrial parks, and hey, how about truck stops??

That’s just it-they’re already in the industrial parks and storage areas. San Antonio doesn’t have enough truck parking, even the managers of parking facilities know this-they literally have WAITING LISTS for trucks looking parking and storage!

well it sucks, i am sure. but for me, i'd not want the loud noise, or smoke that some ignorant company drivers or o/o's create.

if i have a well maintained home, yard, street, and general neighborhood, i want it to stay that way.

those truck drivers or o/o's are just going to have to seek out other places to legally park, and that's all there is to it.

maybe park the trucks on the trucking company property and commute via personal vehicle?

    live too far for that..??

    then seek other living situations.

neighborhoods do not have to cater to the truckers.

neighborhoods cater to the majority of the residents, not a lone wolf or 2.

One more thing to note that bugs me. If I want to take a walk to exercise I can't in front of the warehouse anymore. It's all one long oil slick from trucks that can't do proper maintenance. Plus it tends ro simply run into the nearby pond, which did have good fishing, but not anymore.

It’s already banned in the residential areas,so that isn’t the issue. The issue is in the industrial sections of the city where the drivers sometimes have to wait before doing a live load pickup or live unload delivery so it’s more than just catering to a “lone wolves”.;)

I have many thoughts, but the cheif thought is when the street parking begins inhibiting the normal operation of the road, something has to happen.

Street parking used to be the norm outside of our Atlanta OC as drivers waited for their appointments at the grocery warehouse. It got to the point that getting in and out of our driveway could be problematic. I don't know who did what, but now there is no street parking allowed, sure there's one or two guys a night, but no where near the volume.

It sucks for the driver's, but the real answer to the problem is to charge more for the time wasted having to stop short. That's not going to happen, but it is the solution.

From what we have been told it does not pertain to industrial parts were the streets are set up wide for parking. These places tend to have some outfits that run 24/7 anyways. This is only for the business districts that close shops at 5-6 in the afternoon and get no deliveries after those hrs.
Cdl life coulda done a little better with this story.

Do you live in District 8?

Because the District 8 councilman is the one who is pushing this ordinance, and there's very little truck traffic on the surface streets in that part of town to begin with. This is a solution looking for a problem.
