Hey guys!
Could anyone tell me if they had any experiences with Precision Motor Transport Group. I am considering them for my next employer, but since I have nto hauled cars yet, I don't really know what to expect.
You know, the usual...weekly miles, pay, hometime etc.
Thanx.

My hubby has been with them for the last year and a half, to say the least it is the best company he has ever worked for! The home time is great and the pay is awesome!! The dispacthers are nice and when I had to call cuz hubbys father passed away they were SO GOOD TO US, I have stated here several times that PMTG was the best and I still stand behind that statement 100 percent.
Yes they haul cars, the guys at the ports are all quite nice too, you will not be PUSHED, and you run legal ALL the time, if you dont you will get points. Their trucks are well maintained to say the least, and that makes it easier for you to make money, them to save money and those of us at home to rest a tad easier....and of course keeps the public safer.
My hubby had driven for 21 years when he went there but never cars, once you learn the truck its a piece of cake. I have told several people about PMTG simply because they make our life so much better.
I am a true red head with an attitude about how people treat my hubby and PMTG gets a huge THANK YOU for letting us join their team and how well they treat their drivers and families. -
Thanx guys.

prodriver, hubby brings his rig home all the time unless it is in the shop for regular 14,000 mile maint.........and yes often it is loaded with all bmw's or other high end vehicles. I asked about theft and we are not responsible for vandalisim but theft is a huge no no...take all the keys!
Honestly PMTG is quite the place to work for and yes they pay their drivers well I think the average for 2005 was 82,000 -

Damage claims are not a problem....when the driver gets their cars they are trained to inspect them BEFORE they even move them on the lot, if there is a problem they report it, it is either taken care of or they get a different car to load. In a situation with a storm there would be no blame placed on the driver, as the weather could be verified and they have insurance to cover those types of issues.
Hubby was very scared when he took this job as to his ability to do it, after training in Greer he took his first load and since then has never looked back. I think the company (people and policies) and the equipment make all the difference in the world. I know I sound like a broken old 45 record but IMO pmtg has the correct attitude, keep driver turnover down, treat them like humans not machines, reward good workers, retrain and help the ones who need it and strive to improve things on a regular basis. -
I dunno. I think I would still feel a little better carrying ONE piece of heavy machinery, which may cost as much as a load of 10 cars, but is not quite as fragile.

Hi all,
I'm here at the hotel in Okemos. As soon as I got off of the Greyhound I went to work. I was picked up and taken to get my physical and drug test which includes a back x-ray. Then we got a quick lunch and rode down to the shop in Williamston to get our road tests and watch a safey video. The class is large. We have 14 drivers in our group. I aced the road test and was asked to perform some tight manuevers that the other drivers weren't asked to do. Driving a car hauler is definetely different than a regular truck! I got to my room about 845pm last night and don't have to do anything today until noon. Today were are going to the corporate office about a mile down from here to do insurance and uniforms and such. Tomorrow and Friday I think we are staying here at the hotel for training. We are supposed to pull out for Greer on Saturday morning for load securement training. I'm starting to feel comfortable with the company and everyone I've met so far has been very professional and speak nothing but good things about the company. I'll update on this thread as the rest of the week goes on. Thanks luvmyhubby for helping me make this decision. I think I made the right move. -
I am glad things are going well for you, isnt driving that car hauler a trip though? My hubby will be in greer on saturday to load....you will love that place it is HUGE, and learning how to load is fun. Take care and keep us posted when you can.
