I think your referring to the 91 scales in Yorba Linda area .

I've had a few fellow drivers get pulled over for running the Westbound Banning (CHP Desert Hills Inspection Facility).

Another one had a PrePass that gave him a green light, but he noticed a CHP Cruiser had his lights on behind him shortly after.

He pulled over and asked him "Why did you pull me over for, my PrePass gave me a Green Light.

The Officer replied "Let me see your PrePass"?

He showed him that the Green Light was flashing on the Transponder.

My friend said "You must have got the wrong truck" and the Officer took off.

There's been times when I have been about 1/2 a mile or less before the Scale Status Sign and it said "Scales Closed, Do Not Enter".

But when I got closer, it changed to "Scales Open, All Trucks Must Enter".

    I just kept going.

Now the Blythe Scale, they will chase you down if you run the Scale.

Yes at Banning, you may get pulled over, there may be more of a chance that you won't, then you will, but it can happen.

Don't follow the lead of what others do.Its likely those trucks have prepass. Far as chasing you down if you dodge a scale, cop will either chase you down or there cameras will get you.

Oops, that would be the 91! Good catch.

The last two drivers they ran down for skipping the Banning scale were fed to this tiger the CHP keeps at the scale, loads were then sold off to CRST.

I've seen guys blow scales. Seen some caught, some half assed pursued and gotten away.
Unlike my esteemed colleague, I stop.

Wow I am surprised we got 17 posts into a Banning scale thread without any mention of the US Marshal Service.

I firmly agree with the OP and his choice of thread titles. I believe weigh stations should be be banned. :D
