So, i talked to a friend yesterday and he tells me his company, "paid him" to take the day off due to bad weather conditions where he was (Atlanta). Apparently there was a Bad Snow storm and traffic was REALLY bad. He couldn't drive and crashes were likely. How many companies practice this "common sense" approach to driving in poor conditions? Would you drive in Bad Weather Conditions?

Which companies don't care if you get stuck in Bad Weather...they ain't paying YOU!

A Few that don't pay you for Bad Weather conditions are
    -Maverick
    -Werner

Please, everyone add to this list.

Bad weather? What a joke. You haven't seen bad weather until you've pulled a HOT load down Donner Pass in a snowstorm with no chains. If you can't handle a little bit of snow and expect to get PAID for being a wimp you should just probably get a job at Taco Bell.

Bad weather driving is when the risk of "Driver/vehicle caused accident" is greater than the risk of successful delivery.

LOL...(tough guy). Yep, you'll be getting into a wreck REAL SOON. (Whoops...and there goes his lic. folks). * Hope you know how to flip burgers?

PS. Smart companies that have their drivers "pull over" because ITS cheaper to spend a day on the side-lines. Azkul89; doesn't work for one of them.

My company will give me layover pay of $50 if I'm held over due to no fault or my own and under a load. However as of posting this I'm about 20 miles from the Atlanta bypass and don't see any cause for bad weather just yet

If they see a snowflake in Atlanta the whole city shuts down, no one goes to work.
