The shop I had working on my truck made it necessary to replace my front axle and steering box (long story)!. The steering box is a Sheppard M100 Auto. The manual says it adjust the steering automatically by turning the wheel to max left then right. However it will not turn but one steering revolution to the right and stops. The stop adjustments are all the way loosened at this point. I see there are screw adjustments on either end of the box. Of course the radiator side mount is in the way. I know I'll have to loosen the box bolts pull it out enough to reach the screw, but I don't know how to adjust the box. Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

A M100 steering box has auto adjusters. The adjustment is done with the steering tires
lifted off the ground and the engine stopped.

Page 32 of the manual gives the procedure. The Spindle stops need to be adjusted at the
same time to get maximum turning radius without the tires rubbing on anything.

If you are trying to turn the wheels with them on the ground, no human is strong enough to turn the wheels to set the poppets because you have lost your power assist. You need to make some slow speed figure 8's in the parking lot or jack the front end up and turn against the stops to set your poppets.

I took the steering off. Here is the rub. When I turn the steering all the way to the left the pitman arm is facing at 9 o’clock facing the front of the truck, but turning the wheel all the way to the right, the pitman arm stops at approx 5 o’clock toward the firewall. I’m not a brain surgeon but that isn’t right. Any thoughts?

There are timing marks on the arm and the shaft they have to be lined up. See page 43 in the manual I posted the link to in post 2. I suspect the marks are not lined up.

Can you post a picture that shows the timing marks and the entire steering gear?
With the drag link disconnected how many turns can you turn the gear?
It looks like the bore for the piston/rack is close to horizontal. With the gear centred the timing marks should be at exactly 90 degrees to the piston bore and the pit-man arm should be very close to straight up/down and with the steering tires straight ahead you should be able to put the end of the drag link through the its bore in the bottom of the pit-man arm.
In the picture you posted it looks like your pit-man arm is angled towards the front of the truck.

It was was angled a bit. Someone had the cap off before and stripped it. I had to use a chisel and hammer to break it free. I'll be going back down to the shop either tomorrow or the beginning of the week. I'll report back. Thanks!!

Three and 3/4 steering wheel to the left from center. One and 1/4 steering wheel from center to right.
