Does anyone know how the autozone drivers operate? I see they have only about 12 Dc locations-and was wondering how far you could live from the DC. All I found out was it was 40cpm and 13.50 a delivery.Yes, and lift gate and pallet jack.I was wondering how long they are out,how far they run from each DC,etc....thanks again!

I was a Commercial Sales manager for autozone. Distance from the terminal is not a concern for them, because the truck doesn't go home with you. You drive your car to the terminal (DC) and then get the rig loaded. The drivers are out anywhere from 3-5 days. Most of the guys are home weekends.

The thing I noticed about my drivers, they were mostly happy people. Autozone must not be so bad. I know the trucks were nice and I never heard of a problem with equipment.

They have some nice-looking late model Volvos. I was just wondering about them the other day when a couple of them passed me. Of course, you'd probably have to live near a DC to work for them. I wonder if they operate as teams though.

Hobby Lobby in OKC would be a good, home every few days job, but they mostly run teams. Not that there's anything wrong with teams but not my gig. They do have a few solo drivers that run down to Dallas and back but those runs probably go to the most senior drivers.

Autozone drivers consist of all teams and it is paperless logging. That's how it is out of the Phoenix AZ DC anyways.

Do you work for them? I was reading their site today and it said you might be asked to run team, but it could also be solo.

    Thanks Larz

I think UPSF does the hauling now for them now.

Hey Larz. I shouldn't say they are all teams but that is mostly what it does consist of. I worked for a temp service for autozone but i don't actually work for them, and that was 4 years ago when i did work over there. There is some solo stuff but not much and there is some local stuff as well but its fairly limited.

Feel free to pm me and i can give you the phone number and who to talk to as well.

Not exactly sure about Autozone but most jobs that you run out of a DC do require you to live within a certain radius. Most I have seen and the one I work for requires living within a 100 mile radius of said terminal. The reason for this is you go out with deliveries and then come back to get a new load and back out for next delivery. If you didn't live somewhat close to the terminal you would never get anytime at home.

Anyone know what the team pay is for them, and if teams are still home on the weekends? We live about 9 miles west of the Phoenix, AZ DC and my wife and I are teaming for another company as I speak... and keeping our eye out for opportunities that get us home a bit more. Thanks.

Not sure, but when I spoke to them they were not hiring. Good luck though.
