Does anyone have any information about AutoZone? They have an opening in Lavonia GA for OTR driver but no pay information. I was just wondering what or how they pay and any other information someone can give me about them.

    Thanks in advance. :biggrin_25522:

I am going to bring this thread back from the dead. Does anyone have any information about Auto Zone? I have seen both sleeper trucks and day cabs running up and down the highway.

Went ahead and started the process of getting my hazmat, which they require.

I'd try and find a phone number to a recruiter there and ask them. It would be a start anyway.

Actually, I think it is a driving job for UPS.

UPS in my area, has had several openings for an AutoZone driver.

I would have had to go to some town in PA, (Kutztown) off of 1-78 I believe, but I could not do that, and frankly, WILL NOT do that for an orientation or job interview. The trip there would have been about 6 hours from my house.

SO, check with the UPS website. Look for driving jobs there. If one or more pop up, it IS for Auto Zone, not the AutoZone company in of itself.

Also, the UPS job, IS NOT union, and NOT the same benefits as the rest of UPS!!!

It is OTR and home weekly by the way..

By the way, again, up here in MY AREA and that is of New England, UPS also has a contract for the Volkswagen dealerships. All deliveries are made at night, with pup trailers.

UPS has been for a while now, getting into dedicated accounts. And I should also point out, IT IS NOT part of UPS Freight either.

It is an entirely all different division of UPS. I think it IS called, UPS Dedicated (or Logistics). SO DO NOT EXPECT the same benefits, and anything else, even remotely offered by UPS.

Why don't you go to a local store and find out when their next truck is due in, then show up after he pulls in to unload and talk to the driver?

I think they do all thier deliveries at night. They get the parts there, so in the morning, the employee's can put the stock away.

I too make night time deliveries, one in particular, in downtown Boston. I drop off the product, they put it away when they get there at 6 AM.

If anyone came up to me, I'd swing my arms at them first, ask question later, MUCH LATER.

Many AutoZone stores are in unsavory neighborhoods. I do not recommend going in the dark, and trying to "talk" to anyone.:biggrin_25513:

they have a distribution center in zanesville OH they run a mix of local ,regional and team runs out of that location it is a company driver location unlike some other locations the drivers I have talked to around there seem very happy... run max hours solo ,pushed hard to make delivery times but compensated well ( i took it that he was doing about $300.00 a day)

Auto Zone is a private fleet. Advance Auto's fleet is contracted out to UPS Truckload.

I know. Sad isn't it?! I figured maybe someone from Auto Zone may have joined this site since I started the thread. I guess they must make good money, get good home time and are happy so no need to come on here. They have nothing to complain about :biggrin_2559:

There is an Auto Zone on every corner here in Georgia so I go by at least one everyday depending on where I am at. I have yet to see a truck delivering during the day which leads me to believe they may deliver at night. The store employees are responsible for the stocking and I agree with the said post above. They have the pallets of goodies waiting on store employees when they get in the next day.

I will talk to my teacher at school tomorrow about it. He said they have come there before looking for students.
