I've been told several times that you can't check the tire pressure if you have an auto inflation system. And I've found several sources online that say the same. Twice now my otrs has asked me to check tire pressure when I report the light won't go off. Both times i ended up not doing it because the problem resolved itself. I don't know the system very well so disconnecting anything makes me uneasy. So who is in the right here?

I have The Hendrickson TireMaxx Pro system on my trailers. I can check individual tire pressures.
Just undo the hose right on the axle hub. Helps if you push in on the hose while turning the fitting.
The end of the hose there is the exact same size as the tire valve. Just put your air gauge on there to take a tire reading.
TireMaxx Pro system has both a high and a low regulator to keep the tire pressure in a ten pound range. During the day with the tires warming up and higher daytime temperatures the tire pressures will increase. So the upper regulator will bleed off air. Then overnight when parked everything cools down and the pressure drops. Now the pressure is under the lower range, so when you start out in the morning, the light comes on until all of the tires are back up to pressure.

The trailers for the company I haul for have ends on each hose going to each tire. I have never seen them before Makes a fast check. My trailer you can unscrew the hose and check at the valve stem. They want you to check because you probably have a leak in one of the tires. They want to see what tire.

Well some of those fittings are awfully tight and i'm limited on tools. But good to know thank you guys. Turns out I have a leak at the controller assembly box. Didn't catch it before.
