we had an older truck we didn't want to spend alot of money on and we went with one for a 3406E. Only had it running for maybe 5 hours and I used it for a local trip yesterday. Everything seems pretty good. One thing I will point out though, the injectors seals are cheaper quality so we didn't use the ones from the kit and went with cat ones. They seems to be alot thinner then the cat ones so we didn't really wanna chance it and get a leak. Other then that everything else seemed pretty good

idk about aftermarket kits. We have two trucks that are out in the back 40 that the cust. used aftermarket kits and they broke liner flanges and they just abandoned the trucks. I just say go with oem

I don't nessecsarily think the aftermarket kits are as bad as everyone thinks. Just think if you owned the company that supplied the kits, would u want to compete with Cat knowing they have really good quality and just throw some junk out there? No of course you wouldn't because then nobody would be buying them once word got around. Stories u hear about aftermarket kits could be the fluke times that there is a defective parts. But do you think that doesn't happen with cat parts as well? I think the kits are built well enough to get you buy and if you can afford the cat kits then buy them to some reassurance but theres a big price difference there.

Thanks, well i have to agree with your therory, it think it is likely to be like useing say a RYCO or another brand of aftermarket oil filter, also the price difference here in OZ is CUMMINS $5,000.00 and API $2,750.00 and apparently API have been around for 30 years in the USA? So I am edgeing towards buying the API kit
