So, yesterday I tried my Tripac and the A/C kicked on. It has never turned on for 1 year now. So all happy that it finally worked, I shut it off and headed off. So Im here in Florida around 89 degrees, its hot and went to go turned on my APU and to my luck A/C not working again. I changed a blown fuse, nothing... Freon was put in 2 months ago. Heater works etc. What can be the problem? Evaporator makes a slight hiss noise and Condenser unit doesn't turn on. Maybe a short? Like I said it was running after a year, now it doesn't again. Fan doesn't work either.
Thanks

Could be your expansion valve is not working right. Clogged from sitting so long.
-
Where is that located?
-
Which fan doesn't work? There are 3 of them, one for the APU engine radiator, one on the back of the sleeper, and the blower motor under the bunk.
-
Sounds like the condensor fan since it ain't working. As soon as you turn the system on the blower should come on and in about 2-3 seconds the condensor fan should kick in. Could be a relay too. I've seen the cfan damaged by truck washes dragging and beating around with the brushes. I had them crack a piece of the shroud where it held the fan blades and would kick the breaker. You couldn't see it unless you were looking right at it. Also that connector can get damaged or wet. Pull it apart and check it out.
There's a little circuit breaker on the corner of the box near the evaporator fan. You could of accidently reset it and not known it. That's why it come back on for a little until it kicked??
Are you getting any trouble codes? -
Blower Motor and one in the back of sleeper.
This morning, my son started the APU and the blower motor turned on and the one on the back of the sleeper didn't. Also the Pipe from the APU casing that leads to a filter and then to the back of the sleeper fan, gets hot. Also blower motor doesnt turn on again. -
No codes, im going to check fan connections now. I did reset it when it didnt work and it still doesn't. I checked the panel and it looks good. Fuses are all good. APU engine radiator fan works.

Yep, sounds like your expansion valve is clogged. It's the heart of the ac system, when it malfunctions everything like you describe happens. Only way to fix it is to evacuate the system and install a new one. Big $$$. Always exercise the a/c system (even in winter) or stuff starts to clog up the valve over time, especially if it has a small leak.

Did you ever get you Tripac repaired. What was the problem? I'm having similar issue with mine. Thanks.!
