I'm trying to find a inexpensive 120 amp alternator for my TriPac but I'm having issues finding one.
The outside of the alternator has a badge on it, says Thermo King, P/N: 2E00204G02, Service P/N: 42-367, Current:65A Voltage:14.5v yada yada.
I asked a dealer if they had the part and they said the new part number is 45-2671 and its $311.50!!?!
Surely there are cheaper ones that will fit, my old one has a fan and pully still so I could pull those off and put them on a new one if needed.
Engine is a Yanmar TK270M - year is 2012 I think.
Eyeballing it I think I've found some Bosches that will fit it but I'm not 100% sure.
Thanks for any assistance, links or anything that will help me track down the proper part.

I bought what showed compatible and looked right for my comfort pro, it was exactly the same as the original and is running well a year later. In fact as they're so cheap I bought a spare just in case and a starter too although I've not needed that yet. I had to replace most things on this during the first few months so had a serious lack of faith issue with the apu, but now I have a spare itll probably never need it!
Personally I'd just put in your motor details, and if the image looks like your alternator it's probably going to work fine. -
1995 Chevy Impala... 105 amp. You have to buy the pigtail (Dorman) and splice it in. Use the pulley and fan from the TK. Washers might be needed to adjust the clearance from the alt case. It will bolt right in.
After you convert it, you can buy an alternator anywhere for $100 when needed.Joeziah Thanks this. -
The original alternator is a Bosch. Yes, there is a 120 amp upgrade possible but some other hardware might be needed.

I did the Chevy conversion about a year ago I get 14.2 volts running and a replacement alternator is $65 on rock auto

I ended up getting a DB Electrical ABO0370 off Amazon for $88 bucks. It's 120amps, plugged right into my old connection.
I was going to do the conversion as its a very common Alternator fitting, but I did not have my soldering set, crimpers etc with me so I didn't do the conversion.
I also learned that if you are not careful, some of the shafts are too short to fit the old pully from the original TK alternator, probably could find a new pully that is inset that is the same diameter as the old one.
I did have to use the old fan and pully on the one I ordered as my unit turns ccw.
Now my other issue I'm having is when I turn on the AC, it shuts down and gives a ALT code.
If I just run the APU though I do not get the code. I believe I need to clean all my ground connections and reconnect everything up to see if it fixes it.

Is the idle to low? When you add a bigger alternator it requires more power than the original. When the AC kicked in it can stall the motor.
