Well, to start I'm a wannabe. I've been researching trucking companies to see who accepts newbies for cdl training. Looked like Prime was maybe my best option. Submitted my application and tried to call but was on hold forever so I left a message. Today I called and was informed my application was disqualified because I was terminated from my last employer. I might add that my termination was for "offending" a customer. I worked in retail. The whole ordeal was chicken s#%t. Anyway, I'm healthy, clean driving record, no drugs, no record, dependable, honest, and half-way intelligent guy here
. Never had been terminated before in my 22 years of working. Is this the norm for all the trucking companies? Any suggestions on other decent companies hiring, that may give me a chance?

Im not saying you were guilty of "offending a customer" at your previous employer, but it is part of your employment record... and at first glance, Prime has to consider this when reviewing your application... Truck driving is also customer service when dealing with shippers and recievers... In 9 months I have visited some of the same customers 3 or 4 times... being rude or not following procedures can get you in trouble.
Keep looking, dont get discouraged.IUFAN87 Thanks this. -

I thought companies quit giving the reason so and so doesn't work there anymore. They can only say that he worked there such and such dates and would or would not be eligable for re-hire. Are you stating on your apps that you were terminated? Just curious......

or he could have been rejected for an entirely diffrent reason. -
You should feel very forunate that Prime(Crime) turned your application down. And as far as
a company giving an explanation why you were terminated, they are treading on dangerous ground and that is why most companies will only say, " such and such was employed here from this date to that date" and that is basically all the information that they will give out on a former employee, anymore only opens a door for legal action.

Well, on Primes online application it asks for the reason for leaving last employer. I was terminated. It also asks reason for termination. So I typed out the reason in the box they provided. They don't know all the circumstances surrounding my termination. I was railroaded. ALL of my former supervisors, bosses etc. before the last one, will give me good references. So that in itself should say something. Oh well, I'm gonna look at it as Primes loss by not even giving me a chance. I am supposed to find out here in a couple of hours if Driver Solutions is going to accept me for USA truck or not. If they do, I will be going to C1 Driving School in Indy soon.

All the Prime recruiter said was that my application was disqualified because I was terminated from my last employer. As I said before, those questions were on the Prime application, reason for leaving as well as reason for termination. I doubt they even called my last employer. -
