I put 8 M657s on in June. So far they are good, no noticeable loss in fuel economy, ride and handle just fine. They replaced 8 M647 that are discontinued.

    Good tire imo

I can't speak for Toyo's cause I've never had experience with them but a good alternative to Michelins are Goodyear or Bridgestone. They are front runners when it comes to wear in my eyes. Michelins are a great all around tire though. Other alternatives you could maybe check out are before Toyo's are Yokohama, BFGoodrich or Hankook tires. Just a thought.

I just pulled off two Toyo steers that were 18 and 24 oz out of round in less than 70,000 miles.

    Running Michelins, now.

I do run Toyo 157's on the trailer, and they are doing well, there.

I ran 4 Toyo on my front drive axle. They were fine when new. But after about 100k mile they started to wear quickly. I am in the process of replacing all 8 drives within the next month. I have roughly 230k on them now and really not happy with them compared to other tires I have run.

My best set of drives were actually some el cheapo Hankook DL07 tires. I only experimented with the Toyo and Continental to see if paying more actually resulted in longer lasting tires. The Hankook DL07 lasted for just over 400k mi. And only reason I pulled them was because they were starting to get greasy and slippery on wet roads. They still had roughly 30% tread. I'm going to go back to them and hopefully I get the same results.

I love Michelin steers. Best steers I have ever had. I'm running the Michelin XZA3+. This is my 3rd pair that I put on in Oct of 2014. I'm at roughly 250k mi on them now. The shoulders have some chunks missing,.. but over all very even wear. I will be replacing them with my drives here soon.

1st pair I ran at 100psi and they started cupping and wearing hard on the inside edges. I got about 125k mi out of them before the shaking became too much. I went back and was going to try some different steers. Dealer told me I should have been running them at 110 PSI and to make sure I did had a good alignment. My alignment was over a yr old when I put the first pair on. He said they were the best steers on the market. I was a little angry at how they ended up. But decided to give them another try. Tires mounted and balanced, 3 axle alignment. Religiously maintained 110 PSI and made it to 240k with excellent wear. I wasnt ready to replace them yet,.. but I had pulled over on the shoulder of an off ramp one night to pee and ran over some kind of sign post. Had no choice but to replace both of them.

They say picture is worth 1000 words,.. I had some choice words when this happened.

The Michelin XZA3+ is now discontinued.

It is being replaced by the Michelin X® Line™ Energy Z.

I've had good luck with both the Michelin XZA3+ and the Bridgestone R283 Ecopia Steer tires.
