I was wondering if it's worthwhile.
I'd have to cut out panels and add hinges and latches so I could have access to storage areas under my trailer if I got some skirts.
Anyone run side skirts on a flatbed?

I have thought about that before as they really do help with mpg on a van. Anything that gives a real MPG benefit is worthwhile.
-
I really can't see how they would help much, at least on the stuff that we haul, as it is never nice and straight and flat, it's always "dirty" air.
I would guess it would be more trouble than it's worth, some of the places we go, we could never keep them on. -
Have seen some new 53' container chassis with side skirts as well as some tankers so likely will not be long until they are available for flatbeds.
The Challenger Thanks this. -
I guess if you do it you would be one of the first ones and I'm sure it will catch on.

Well he wont be the FIRST http://www.loadcoveringsolutions.com/windskirtsflatbedtrailers.htm now to see if they catch on.
Semi Crazy Thanks this. -
How much do they go for?
-
No idea but I might start looking into them , going to order a few new 53' flatbeds in the near future.
I hate the look of them on a reefer or dryvan , but these look good on a flatbed. -
Wonder what they cost and their weights? Looks cool till they get damaged (job sites, steep drive ways, snow/ice, etc...)
-
Over 200 lbs weight!
Only a matter of time before some show trucker makes some out of polished SS.
