That's sounds about right for the heavy end, my buddy said 88,000, that was with no bucket. That's a huge variance within a single machine model.
Anyone know the weight of a 336 CAT excavator?

That's wierd, I've hauled a lot of 336E's, none have been that heavy. Heaviest one was 86,000 with a bucket on it. Did that one have a quick coupler on it?
-
yes it does
-
quick coupler with a bucket and a little mud or dirt in the under carriage and it is likely!
Caterpillar Cowboy and Oscar the KW Thank this. -
One of ours is a hybrid model and weighs 88,000 with hyd. Thumb and cab protection and beefed up bumper guards all the way around

336E's have 3 versions....standard, extreme service, and hybrid...... I have also seen around a 2,200 lbs weight difference from the narrowest tracks to the widest ones. Cat spec sheets have all the info, you just got to know how the machine is set up and where to find it on the spec sheets.

Different buckets, different thumbs, quick couplers, stick and boom arrangments, bucket vs plate compactor or other attatchment that may be on it, plus how full of mud the thing is, all affects it.
IIRC about 5 years or so ago Cat renamed the 330's the 336's, the same size hoe started consistently weighing more than 30 tons, or 60k. Same with the 325's going to the 329, And it looks like with the F series the 320 is going to turn into a 323F.
320CL Forestry arrangement weighs A FRIKIN LOT more than a standard construction 320CL. -
I weighed 137300 with a 336 with a quick coupler 54" bucket 1/4 tank of fuel...I weigh 51600 empty on 8.... So this one weighed 85,700
johndeere4020 Thanks this. -
I was just under 65k empty and just under 155k loaded. This truck is a 2004 W900 daycab with 46k rears, C16, 18 speed and a winch with 3/4" cable on it and gobs of chain... LOL. The trailer is a late 80's or early 90's Cozad.
