I keep getting different weights from all different web sites. From 69k to 86k so what is the actual weight?

Cats site for a 336E says 80k to 86k. Older one might be different.

Yeah I found that too. Guess I will take the 8 axle tomorrow.

depends on the attachments and what size stick it has on the boom. also the letters after the 336 determine the weight.

It was a "G" but I can not find that on the CAT sight or anywhere else for that matter. Just trying to determine if I can get away with a 3 axle or the 8. I will side with caution and go with the 8.

I would take the axle (although I suspect at this point you're already long gone) I wanted to check my book at work, ours is a standard 336 and it weighs 81,000. But a buddy of mine works for a company that has a fleet of them, he said the heaviest one they have is 88,000.

Looked up Cat for weight and give you weight by unit but it could be either dry or wet weight of new units.

    http://www.cat.com/en_US/products/new/equipment.html

    Looking for other links

    Did search in CAT site
    "336d weight"

And came up with very close to 88,000 pounds.

Usually the weight in cats site is "operating" weight, that's heaped bucket, full fluids, and an operator. My 81,000 is our hoe, no bucket, full of fuel on a cat certified scale.

    EHB Thanks this.

Well the CAT site is wrong along with all the rest of them. The darn thing actually weighed in at 90k with an empty bucket. CAT says 86,200
