I'm looking for a job that you can live out of the truck, and only stays in the southern parts of the country. System told me that their phoenix division only stays in the south.
I'm cleared to schedule orientation with these guys but not sure if I want to do it. They told me they train for 3-4 days at the yard and cut you loose in your own truck. I've seen these guys on the road, they usually got some big kenworths which look nice to live in. they say 3 weeks out and 3 days off. Not really the best home time but hey some places want to keep you out even longer than that. They also do a 5k sign on and 1600 "transition" pay. I inquired on their pay and they sent me their pay sheet. Uploaded it here.
Can't tell if it's a good company or not though. Paid 0.55 a mile if the load goes 801 miles+, which would only be 440, which is split across 2 days of driving so 220 a day is pretty low.
Can't tell if it's good or not. Read a lot of their driver reviews. They've got some bad reviews that seem real, mostly new guys complaining. But when I read the ones like "My dad has been a truck driver for 20 years and this is the best company ever" they seems like a fake review to me.
Anyone here worked for System Transport? Are they any good?

The REAL question here is: are you willing to repeatedly tarp loads in nasty/frigid weather -- for $25 a pop?

They are paying short miles. That would be a deal breaker for me.

I used to work for them. Almost 2 yrs. They have a sliding pay scale. Short miles pay a little better, but not much. You'll tarp a lot. Trucks are decent, trailers too. As far as staying south, I didn't see the south as much as the NW. and I was on the Texas board.
Hit me up with a DM, and I'll give you the skinny on a better deal.Speed_Drums Thanks this. -

Curious: what's your reason (OP) for only wanting to stay south?
Not my job to convince anyone how to run, but I've seen bunches of drivers say the same about only staying in the south or swearing off the northeast (chiefly NY). Speaking for the Florida native that I am (that has spent the past four years living in SD), yes, winter sux, we all know it, but personally, I never restricted myself to any one part of the nation—north, South, east Mississippi/west Mississippi or otherwise. The more land I saw, the more money I made—and the more adventure I got to enjoy.
