Hey all! Anyone worked for Magnum LTL? Husband has an offer pending his background check, which will be spotless...it sounds like a good company. Wondering how their benefits are, how they treat their employees...anything anyone can offer us!
Anyone ever worked/work for Magnum LTL?

Having never heard of this company I attempted to research them online. On their rather "slick website" all I was able to find was very vague statements about "depending upon experience". They do not provide any definitive answers, so "buyer beware"..

He was given definite numbers for pay...he would take a cut from what he gets now, going to an hourly wage, but was told he could get as much overtime as he wanted. As far as benefits, they said they have 3 plans through Medica to choose from, even the cheapest one is pricey, so that's why I'm wondering about those too. I know he can get more specifics upon hire, just wondered if anyone else has worked for them and what they think as far as how the company is to work for.

I personally would avoid them.
I would consider them a JB Hunt or Swift at a more local regional level.
I used to live in Fargo where they are based out of and they have a bad reputation with their drivers.
My ex-BIL used to work for them and I can't say he didn't get what he deserved, but there's always two sides to every story. Some of the things they dinged him for were petty. -
Ok, thanks. He currently works for DLI. They are a great company with awesome benefits. The only downfall is they are a night shift, and run only nights..so the switch to Magnum would be to get on a day shift so he can have more time with the family. They also offer a lease/purchase program if he ever wanted to go down that road. Lots to think about, thank you!

I've found nothing but fair treatment from them, I am LTD and know several LTL drivers from the various terminals, all of whom seem happy. 13 terminals, transfer-ability, pay rates that are industry competitive...
I've found if you do your job properly your experience is vastly improved. They, who spend more time thinking about ways to get out of work usually have poor experiences. -
No, but sitting and watching what they have done to friends and family and how they were treated who DID work directly for them does give it a unique perspective.
Enough so to know, you avoid both Magnum AND EW Wylie out of Fargo. -
Perhaps you could convince him to sign up and enlighten the masses.
On EW Wiley... the only experience I have with them is an empty flatbedder down in South Carolina didn't like that my 387 with 45,000 lbs. of peanuts in the box wasn't fast enough for him and I got the "number 1" as he blew past me...
Guess we should stay away from them, their drivers are all hot-heads. -
I started with EW Wylie in 1990. My first year was with them.
So before you start with your BS, THAT was first hand personal knowledge. It's funny when you hear drivers 20+ years later talking about the same stupid games there.
