Anyone ever bought a radio from G.I. Joe's electronics?

I'm thinking about asking the wife to get me a Magnum 257HP to put under the tree this year. Most CB shops I know like to open the radio and fidget around with the pots, modulation limiters, etc. and end up distorting the audio in an attempt to make the radio louder.

I saw G.I. Joes offers to sell the radio w/o opening it up for under $200, albeit the radios being on backorder. Has anyone ever done business with this company? Are they good to deal with?

Remember I just want a bone stock virgin radio.

    Thanks in advance.

I'd buy a bone stock radio from Wes but wouldn't even consider something "peaked & tuned" from his shop.

PS I wouldn't expect a new shipment of Magnums by Christmas.

I've bought several radios from GI Joes, and never had a problem with any of them...I also have always let them do their P&T on the radios, and have not been disappointed yet.

One reason I buy from GI Joe's, is their prices are hard to beat. Second reason is their fast shipping, and finally, like I said before, I have never had a problem with anything I have bought from their shop...

No "Whacky-Packed" radios at GI Joe's!

    Really.....Hummmm......lets see....

    Connex 3300HP @ GI Joes is: $179.95
    Connex 3300HP @ Copper Electronics is: $189.99

    Galaxy DX94HP @ GI Joes is: $329.95
    Galaxy DX94HP @ Copper's is: $359.99

Magnum Rapter @ GI Joes is: $209.95
Magnum Rapter @ Coppers is: $209.99

    So "GI Joe's is over-priced?"

As for eBay...Knock yourself out...And when you have a problem with what you bought, good luck getting a replacement or refund...or even finding the person you bought from.

I have bough a few things from copper never had a real problem however
I don't care for their coax ..... Davis makes better coax IMHO .....

E-Bay has killed the used radio market buying used on E-Bay is like paying New prices for a car with 250,000 milles on it ..

Never, ever buy a radio from Copper. Spend 15-minutes on the net looking for reviews of those who bought from Copper. Talk to your locals about buying a radio from Copper. It will be the worse move you've ever made.
