NOTE: This thread is for TomTom users. Not looking for how great your Rand McNally, Cobra, or Garmin is. Thanks.

Been using this unit since May. I am very happy with it. I bought it because the car unit I was using, the ONE XL, had excellent routing for cars and a lot of nice features. So I did a little research and decided to buy the 7150, even though there were hardly ANY user reviews to speak of.

I have not met one driver yet who owns a 7150, let alone has even heard about it. TomTom does not sell their product at truck stops.

Is anyone here using the 7150? What do you think about it?

If you care to see my review (it's pretty extensive) click on the link below which will take you to The POI Factory, a free website which has a lot of useful POI's for drivers that you can download for free once you register (free).

I was using tomtom 7150 truck gps for a year and finally sold out and got 7 " rand. Tom Tom is the better gps if used in Europe. The maps for North America are not accurate and many streets are missing even after the latest update. The unit pretends to be a truck gps, but is not, many useful functions are missing. There is not warning for weight stations, state borders, doesn't keep a track of the miles in every state - makes harder to calculate the IFTA.

Thanks for the replies. As far as warnings are concerned I set my GPS to warn me when approaching points of interest that I've uploaded to the unit. I have POI files for weigh stations, low overpasses, truck stops, rest areas, etc etc etc.

I've been pretty happy with it, but like any GPS, it's far from perfect. Oh, and it sells for as little as $269 and the screen size is 5 inches. You need to mount it close to you because it's probably a bit too small to see well if dash mounted. I've got mine within easy reach mounted on the side window.
