I personally wouldn't lease on with a company that has their own trucks as well as O/Os. When push comes to shove, the company trucks always get priority.

^ just clear cut parroted response of something read from someone else who heard it from a guy who has a cousin that it happened to.
I've seen universal Owner operator offers and they do look promising. When I'm a little further into my business plan and make my move into OO, they will be one of the companys I call to discuss numbers with. I suggest you do the same.
I'm in for more answers and to hear if you sign with them.dunchues Thanks this. -
Uhhh, yeah ok. I gave good advice learned from EXPERIENCE. How can you come in and say things like that when you're not even an Owner Operator? You'll be the next lease purchase "operator" coming here crying about getting burnt. Good luck getting those numbers lol! When you actually get to owning a truck then come see me. Until then, I'll keep running your company POS down.
Derailed Thanks this. -
And in an all O/O outfit the established time served old hands are treated just the same as Billy No Mates the new guy? Course they are...

I am a O/O with Universal truckload and they just bent all of the O/O with them over. and shoved it up the --- with there com data card use
you have to call in and beg to get fuel on your card. and see how much your going to pay for it. they now require you to take advance on your load to buy fuel .whoopNride and JimmyWells Thank this. -
So don't use their card. I was with them for awhile not once did I use their card for fuel.

never ever ever ever lease to a company that promise you the world because that's how they get you in and then you are stuck with a bad company and most decent truck companies even as a owner operator will not take you if you had more than 3 jobs on a 36 month period.
order of getting loads:
1. company trucks
2. lease to own(first 3 months then you are on you are just enough to pay them for the truck and some coins for you not to starve)
3. owner operator
