Only if you were a recient new hire, theyare not supposed to do the PSP on current employees. Oh Yeah it costs the carrier $10.00 a pop too.

I'm certain you retained a copy of all of your Driver/Vehicle Inspection forms . All violations listed will include the CFR number and the points awarded are online at FMCSA web site. Simple matter to look up your violations for the last 36 months, apply the proper multiplier, and add up the totals. If you didn't keep a copy for your records, shame on you.

I'm calling BS on this one... Several months ago I had the saftey director at the carrier I was working for at that time (I had been with this carrier for over 10 years at that point) pull mine up because I wanted to know what was on it. She did so no problemo...

wis bang was mostly correct when he stated "they are not supposed to do the PSP on current employees."

PSP is not part of CSA and is supposed to be for the purpose of motor carrier use so they can request driver information for the purpose of pre-employment screening (Written consent required) only as mandated by Congress in the Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users, Title 49 U.S. Code, section 31150 Public Law 109-59 Section 4117. If a carrier uses it for any other purpose such as a review of current employees they are misusing it and violating both the intent of the PSP and the laws/regs supporting it.

Bottom line PSP is solely for the purpose of conducting pre-employment screening and any other use is prohibited, with one exception. A driver may order his/her own report.

If your employer ordered your report as a current employee they were in violation of the law which created PSP as well as possibly a few others.

From page 6 of the ageement you have to sign to use PSP...

    "Terms and conditions

3-Compliance with laws and limitation of use of information. Monthly account holder agreees and understands that:

a)Limitation On Use of Information. Pursuant to federal statute, the information obtained from the PSP database may only be used for pre-employment screening of commercial motor vehicle drivers, and only by the Monthly Account Holder."

Each time I log on to use the PSP system, I have to agree to these terms and conditions before I can use the system.

Of course the computer screen holds still for anything and about the only way you could be caught is if someone gripes about it -or- the safety director is dumb enough to leave it in the Part 391 file where an auditor can compare it to the date on your applicatuion.

Should an auditor fine one, he wil check them all and the fine will reflect how many he/she found!

If you have worked more than 3 years at your present carrier they already have all the info they need for your score. You can manualy sift thru the info or buy a program to do it for you.
I had a driver who left and when he came back i ran a PSP on him. I was questioned about it as he already had inspections under my MC#.

Not quite right, check it out.
    About the Service

PSP is designed to assist the motor carrier industry in assessing individual operators’ crash and serious safety violation history as a pre-employment condition. A carrier will pay $10 for each requested driver history. An annual subscription fee of $100 also applies. Carriers with fewer than 100 power units qualify for a discounted annual fee of $25 per year.
Individuals can request a personal driving history for a fee of $10. No subscription is necessary for individual drivers.
