Good luck! I am thinking about taking a fuel job that is the same way... We need to get congress to change the OT exemption for trucking...

Was with them moons ago in Deer Park, Union..... hated us with a passion, openly. Despised us in Buffalo....... eventually broke the union by firing the fleet and running the business out of other location.

    Nasty, hateful group.

    Good luck!!!

I get overtime after 40, you just need to find the right company. It took me about a year to get this job, there is no turnover. Its nice working five 11 hrs days and getting paid for it. Those big companies like to screw you over to pad their own pockets.

I asked a company one time that paid by hour if they pay overtime, he said they do not.I asked if I had to work over time then, and he said all drivers work 10 to 12 hours a day or longer it depends how long it takes you to the finish the assignments. I told him BS no overtime pay I dont work overtime, then he says if I paid everybody overtime I'd be out of business in a month..I told him he should go out of business if you cant afford to pay your employees.I anit gonna be nobodys slaveboy, but he had some other knucklehead lining up to bend over in the spot I didnt fill

While I do agree, sometimes a person needs to suck it up, take the job so they can get the experience needed to find the gravy job that does pay OT... I have a job with OT, but zero benefits, vacation, sick days, etc... So for me, I'm still gaining a lot taking a job that pays straight time.

Thats the problem, your willing to for no bennies? Suck it up like a good slaveboy. Thanks for driving down wages & bennies by working for peanuts..you say you do it to get your "expereince" but those gravy jobs wont be there if people keep signing up to be abused..

I don't work for a trucking company FYI. Just happens to be a part of my job. Also the reason I'm looking for a job that offers benefits, and decent pay. I just happen to have always worked in industries that aren't required to pay OT. Farming and trucking...
