Any thoughts on purchasing this truck? 2015 VOLVO VNM64 T780

Injector and injector cups were a problem on most Volvo Mack engines, it's why the new 18's are now common rail. Your description is lacking information, if you'd like advice or better information actually post the specifics of the truck.

 

The last and only Volvo I've driven was a 2012 VNL630. Put about 340k on it before the company gave me a new truck. One issue I had that you won't is a 630 bunk is too small. Another issue I had is that the "Volvo enhanced cruise control" never seemed to work anywhere close to correctly. And was terribly obnoxious with its warning indicators. It pulled pretty well, and got pretty good fuel mileage. So with a bigger sleeper and no VECC, I'd happily drive another Volvo. I did have trouble once with injectors, like ReeferOhio mentioned. But I was only down a weekend, and it was under warranty, if memory serves. So it didn't seem a deal breaker in any way.

 

So u wanna buy a Volvo, hmm..I suggest be prepared to join a "I'm on a verge of bankruptcy "club. I'm already in that club.

 

Why Volvo? You should try a kw with a pos ISX then come back and reevaluate the Volvo, lol !!

 

You dont see too may VNM model 780's, in fact I have never seen one, almost every 780 on the road is a VNL, so the VNM will have the old style head lights. The D13 engine with under 500K should be ok if the maintenance was done, I would get the last 6 of the VIN, then call your local Volvo dealer and find out some warranty history.
