I've been seeking sponsored CDL training for days now. I'm about ready to get my CDL A permit and I have a f/t job as a Van Driver.

I need something around New Jersey. I have a family and so traveling far away for training is not the greatest of options. I don't have spare money to pay for it either unless there's one that offers a reasonal payment program :/

    thanks alot

no sorry. I meant for training. I have a f/t job right now that supports my family. I've seen companies that offer training in other states but I'm seeing if there's one locally before I think about traveling

You can try local community colleges/tech schools some offer CDL training but for company sponsored training that's going be tough unless you go with Swift or Prime Inc etc.

Also see about the WIA grant.

    cool thanks.

WIA grant - I think that's only if I'm out of work which may happen if I get laid off when it gets slow

are Swift and Prime (etc) training facilities all at a distance from NJ? I guess I could do more research on CCs/tech schools. thanks

Why trucking? Just curious. I'm not in the industry yet, but I am considering it. I just wonder about other peoples rationale. As far as sponsored training in NJ I found that CR England has a training facility in Burlington, NJ. I would read up on CR England before doing that though. There are a lot of negative comments about CR England here and elsewhere.

There are some companies with paid training so you may be able to do that?

Thanks. Why? Money to support the family and live a better quality of life. What about you? I'm also going to see if the company I work for currently will let me practice with their straight trucks..just for some truck experience until I get in a rig
