So I'm thinking about getting lasik, I'm tired of wearing glasses and I don't like contacts..
My two concerns though is that I hear stories of people who can't drive at night due to halos and I hear that you've eyes are always changing so it might only be good for 10 years until you need to have them corrected again..
Anyone here have the procedure done??
Any of you guys get LASIK?? Has it affected your driving??

Yea that's another cause for concern, and my eyes get really dry during the winter due to the heat being on. I have to wake up and put water in my eyes it gets so bad, so I know Lasik would make it worse

My wife had the procedure done almost 9 years ago and has had perfect vision ever since. She doesn't drive much at night but she's never had any trouble. Dry eyes hasn't been a problem either. I would definitely go with a very experienced doctor. The one that did hers had done several thousand and was obviously very good at it. I have heard of some newer technology available now but don't know what it is. From what I've seen I would recommend doing it.

I want to get it done as well...
I have yet to talk with anyone who has had any issues after having the procedure they say it's the best thing ever and the only regret was not getting it done sooner... -
I want to get it done too.
I hate wearing contacts.I have the halo problem already too. I already have dry eyes and I think contacts make my eyes dryer. -

I looked into a few years ago and the risks seemed to outweigh the benefits, for me anyway. My vision isn't that bad though. Can get through the day without wearing my contacts and often do when I'm being lazy. I just couldn't justify the riskrachi Thanks this. -
I had lasik done 8 years ago.my glasses was real strong an I was had trouble with haloes at night. my night vision has improved ,no more haloes. my eyes were very dry for awhile after the surgery. they still get dry in the winter. you will notice the dust getting in your eyes more. i have some trouble at dusk.
my wife had the surface laser done on her eyes she has trouble with bright lights now. she has to wear sunglasses when she is out side. but everyone is different . i'am glad I had mine done.Pork Chop Express Thanks this. -
My eye doctor asked me one time if I thought about having Lasik done. I asked him why he still wore his glasses. He said "Point taken." That was the end of the discussion.
It may be good but then you only have one set of eyes. Lose that and you are looking for another job.Getsinyourblood and ajohnson Thank this.
