2006 volvo 630. I want to swap out my drivers seat, parts guy at volvo said they have had issues getting the non volvo seats in so they recommend buying theirs.
I had a columbia with a ezrider seat and to get another in I needed to buy a special bracket or the seat was too far back........ any issues like this with the volvo?
any issues with non volvo seats?

my 2006 volvo 780 came with (national seats) when i needed to replace the drives seat i went to volvo and was told it was a 4 week wait and $1,200 for a OEM seat.... said f-- that
went out and found a seat i liked.... and went to a dealer and just had them drill new holds in the floor
i did have them add 2 steel plates (2" X 16") under the flood for extra support
just find the seat you like and have any shop drill the new holes in the floor.... i do recommend the steel under the floor (bolt the seat thru the floor AND the steel) for added safety, just make sure you SIT in the new seat before they drill the new holes to make sure it is where YOU WANT it do be... -
Recommandation check under the floor mat before drilling.

I avoid drilling random holes in my trucks at all cost. I would rather a direct fit or buy a base adapter. if neither exist then I'll just go oem.

The base adapter shouldn't run more than $20 or so. With an aftermarket seat you may run into issues where the seat will not slide rearward all way due to hitting factory accessories behind seat (fridge, drawers, etc)
I've seen more than one with the problem. I put a leather Legacy seat and mine and wound up rearranging the floor plan to make it work correctly lol, but to me was well worth it. Probably not the best plan of action on a 2 year old truck though. -
I put a volvo seat in my freightliner. Sit in place and drill new holes. It's as simple as it sounds. The shorter the screws the better. Longer ones will give less stability.

Just as reminder if you modify your seat set-up thinks also to seat belts, they need to be safe also for annual inspection.

thats the reason i had the steel plates under the floor.... the only way the seat can come lose is if it rips the floor out.....
seat belts are mounted to the seat just as OEM are
