Smith & Solomon has a good reputation. By that, I mean some posters graduated from there and seemed OK with the school. They had a job fair sometime this month for those looking for trucking jobs or training.
-
S & S is more focused on how to get your cdl, not how to drive a truck. But they did have recruiters visit from some of the big carriers and guaranteed all graduates a job.

I have been leaning towards jersey tractor trailer or ideal driving school. I have read some bad things about s&s.
Anyone here been to either of those two schools? -
I was there about 10 years ago. Lots of focus on backing and alley docking. Not a lot of wheel time because of the large amount of students. The course was 4 weeks long, (80% class room, 20% behind the wheel) but you could stay as long as needed until you got your cdl. Just about everyone got their cdl on the first try. They had recruiters from large carriers who guaranteed you a job upon graduation. Remember, this was 10 years ago.
