Universal Am Can has an agent in York. I have a friend who is leased to them. The agent apparently has a lot of short runs. I don't know if he has his own trucks or not. I don't have his number, but it should be easy to find him.

Conway has home daily. Possibly Estes. UNFI is food service, I believe. As blairandgretchen mentioned, Old Dominion out of Carlisle - currently hiring combo drivers (linehaul and P&D) that will get you home daily. Schneider and JB Hunt have local intermodal jobs in the Chambersburg, Harrisburg area. Plus you have your tanker jobs, if you are qualified. Don't forgot those LTL companies, some of which have already been mentioned. I have a buddy that has a home daily, home on the weekend gig w/ US Xpress.
You have plenty of opportunities from the LTL and truckload world. York, Harrisburg, Carlisle area are major trucking hubs. The amount of opportunities you have will be determined by your experience and what endorsements you carry.zoekatya Thanks this. -
Oh, forgot DM Bowman. THey have a terminal out of York. Home daily, dry bulk. Will probably need endorsements, perhaps hazmat and tank.

One more morsel to chew on, contact your local trucking schools, see if they have a list that shows what local companies hired their students. Here's one:http://www.dcsdrivingschool.com/HiringCompanies/ Also, truck stops will have company pamphlets, sometimes easier than sorting through the info on the web.
zoekatya and tangerineGT Thank this.
