So I'm thinking about switching over to Oakley and seeing if anyone has current info about the company. I started the process of getting my hazmat back to see about driving for them. Only post I found was around last year.

I almost went with them. Several of us left Boasso and looked into them. One guy was still there year later. Another left after awhile saying people in operations Believed they knew how to do his job better than him despite never done it.
Think they have driver facing cameras and that beeping thing that distracts you in the name of safety.

As someone who has driven in trucks with safety trash for years. It normally doesn't beep unless your too close if front sensor. Or going over a lane if departure. Front sensor is only one that has a chance to think air is a Prius

    @aramil248 --

I drove for Oakley not long ago.

Based on my experience from then--forget about them. You can do better--right there in your own back yard:

Walmart hiring event -- local truck driver -- Lewiston, ME

The above is of course for a local, home-daily job. If that one is too far from you, then this one should work, instead:

Walmart hiring event -- regional truck driver -- Lewiston, ME

If "Wally" isn't your cup of tea for whatever reason(s) -- then this one should jack up your paychecks quite a bit, too:

Estes Express Lines -- OTR driver -- Bangor, ME -- home weekly

check 'em all out. Waaaaaaaaaaayyyy better than the Oak. o_O

Any reason why not Oakley? Also Estes equipment all look like pos. I also feel like they might rush drivers

Oakley is NOOOOTTT a good place to transition over to tanker duty.

If you have concerns about Estes--then @KaoMinerva might be able to answer your questions.

Estes doesn't rush drivers AT ALL unless you got some super hot gold medal. It's rule of thumb to not keep the next driver waiting. Equipment is hit or miss. It's not old Dominion level good FLEETWIDE and it's definitely not YELLOW LEVELS. It depends on your terminal. The bigger the terminal the better the equipment and opportunity.

The main thing is the money is here... Clearly. If you wanna run, they'll feed you. If you wanna be lazy, run 2000 miles a week... Central doesn't care. I run in the summers and sit in the winter... Still 100K+home daily.

Thing is. I'm someone based what I have seen on the road. Would refused to drive the trucks. I might get a tad picky on the condition of the truck I drive. Which might of cost me in the past delays because of repairs. Because I treat whatever I'm driving like I own it. Only reason I'm currently in a pos truck that I swear needs repairs biweekly. Because current company doesn't have any available trucks

Well.... As the old saying goes... The shinier the truck... The lower the pay. We have a mix of fantastic new trucks, good trucks, DECENT trucks, and then stuff that should be thrown away. Estes is a private company. THEY BUY ALL THE EQUIPMENT... NOT LEASE AND ROTATE EVERY 3 YEARS.

They have to pay for that shiny equipment, usually it's with lower driver pay and benefits.
