Hey was just wondering if there is any benefit to wrapping the a/c lines with some type of pipe wrap or insulation. Some claim cooler vent temps, not sure how this could make a differance,thanks..
Any benefit to wrapping the A/C lines??

shouldn't matter. The actual cooling occurs in the evaporator where the liquid changes to gas which is under the dash anyway.

dont know about your trk,but my a/c line was routed about 3 inches from the turbo.it got hot and blew the line.i replaced the line and was able to re-route it another 3-4 inches away from the turbo.if it blows again i'll be puttin some exhaust wrap on it.

Heat failure from routing next to a turbo is a good reason to smack an engineer upside the head. Something entirely different.Icee Thanks this. -
10 dash 4.a vgt should get a good response, and leave a nasty mark

MN Driver is correct, the largere line, which is the line that usually sweats is actually teh vapor line returning to the compressor, the smaller line which is the liquid line heads to the evaporator and is usually warm anyway.

My '96 FLD came new with pipe insulation on one of the lines. I forget which. It was only the section under the cab/sleeper. The rest was bare.

Just wrap the lines that get cold. The colder the line, the colder your AC will be.
The line that went to the sleeper in the 379 was a long mofo. That would have been a good line to wrap. The AC system never worked very good.
