Does anyome wkows should i put some anti seize on anchor pins and bushing or truck and trailer brakes 4707 and 4709. Issue im having is that almost all pins are stuck but still in good shape so i just slap new brakes shoes with new smqller pins tbat goes on S cam but keep old anchor pins and bushings.
Reason why im asking this is because i have some brake noise when slowing down, 40mph and less. Nosise was there before i installed new brakes shoes. So its either dearn pins not centered 100% or 3 year old Webb brake drums making noise ???

If the drums are still in spec give them a scuff with some 60-80 grit sand paper to remove the glaze or use a roloc disk on your air powered angle die grinder which is what I do.

I use anti-seize on mine as well and I don't have any issues from it. Use it sparingly so it doesn't have the opportunity to contaminate the braking surface.

Drums are relatively cheap. Me personally I'd take the old drums off for scrap $ to the local recycling place and slap new ones on. If the pins look ok you can just slap shoes on and go but I'd rather put new ones in, that's just me though. Tiger tools makes a nice little press that makes getting the pins and sleeves out a quick easy job. Kinda pricey at $300 but a good tool.

You can rent a ball joint press at Autozone , it works great.

I never got them for less than around $90 before then but to me even now prices at $120 apiece is dirt cheap. It's not like you're installing new drums every few months. Heck a set of brakes and drums on a truck and trailer last me 6 years or more. And cutting corners to save a few dollars on brakes? Not my truck.

    BFH usually gets them out.

They're always seized around these parts. Anti-seize just determines how large a BFH is needed to get them out.

Well these Meritor brake shoes and Webb drums lasted only 3 years. And price for Meritor brake shoes went from $65 per side to $125. This time i went with TRP

That's on the driver or possibly the type of trucking you do that they only last 3 years. Some people get on the brakes more than others. I always used my jake to bleed speed and used service brakes as sparingly as possible. Fleetpride in house shoes and drums.
