If he drove for me, he'd be fired. That water was deep enough that the vents for the axles and transmission were under water...meaning they took on water, and will require draining and refilling or significant damage will occur since water really isn't a very good lubricant. Not only that, but it wouldn't take much water to be sucked in through the intake and you're looking at a hydro-locked motor...bent rods likely, requiring some major engine work.

Yeah, he made it through...but if it is run very far before servicing, the differentials, wheel bearings, and transmission will be toast.

...and I'm just going to hazard a guess that the lanes on the other side of the jersey barrier are higher, so the water wasn't as deep. That's the only explanation I can think of, since SNI was in the oncoming traffic lanes and running significantly faster. Possibly directed over there since the water was so deep in the proper lanes.

At the beginning you can see the other side if fairly dry, or at least much less flooded.

I just wonder how much water came in his doors..

    Mike2633 and Ke6gwf Thank this.

the scary part is not being able to see what underneath the water you're about to run into. You better hope the truck doesn't quit or get stuck in 3 feet of water or you're going to have to swim for it.

Lepton1, ChaoSS, Mike2633 and 2 others Thank this.

Swimming is a really bad idea if you have new body piercings. It can cause terrible infections.

If it weren't for the issues of water getting places it shouldn't be, that would be really fun pushing through all that water! Lol

But sadly, wisdom has to overrule Jeep kid... ;)

I'll so fire that SOB. That truck can get so totaled easily in that high water.

Can you imagine a humongous ford kit hanging off that right front windshield?

    Ezrider_48501, Lepton1 and Mike2633 Thank this.
