Anbesol 80% Benzocaine = Failing Drug Screen?

    I used some Anbesol extra strength. It has benzocaine in it. Would that have caused me to test positive on a whiz quiz? I talked to one company that does a hair test. That is scarey!

    I threw to tube away after using it once.

    Don't let the hair test worry you. The longer your hair is the further they can go back. On average hair grows about 3/4 of an inch in a month. Go in with a fresh haircut about an inch long and it will only go back a month or so.

    Well they can take it from other places. With a shirt off I look like a monkey. My hair doesn't get that long on my head. Only have 14 hairs up there :biggrin_2559:

    I was told if you get a novacaine shot you have to be off work for a day or 2 for it to get out of your system.

    Can benzocaine cause a false positive cocaine drug test?


    ​

    No. Although they share a similar suffix, benzocaine and cocaine are very different substances, and benzocaine will not produce a false positive for cocaine.

    IIRC there is 22 different derivitives that can extract from the coca leaf. :biggrin_25525:
