Now retired, I'm just reflecting back on my 42 year career. While living in Florida (Jacksonville)I worked for AMT as a casual (on call) from 1993 to 1996. Moved to NC afterwards. Easily the best trucking job I ever held as far as pay, people and working conditions were concerned. Teamster Shop. All 'drop and hook', mostly ports and rail yards within a 150 mile radius. Feast or Famine (mostly famine unfortunately).

Crowley is still around obviously; does AMT still exist? The woman who hired me was superb and a looker (Jennifer - don't recall her last name) and others in the office are escaping name recognition at the moment. A motley bunch of lease tractors but newer units in very good condition - never a breakdown. Picking up full time hours year around as a casual not on the horizon. Rolling over to full time probably not possible for many years, even decades.
O/O leased to Crowley offered me full time employment but I was a single parent at the time and had to turn him down - would have been great for a single person. Anyone else here ever work for AMT?
