Looks like in today's world you can expect anything even from a great company like Amsoil. There is no mistakes or accidents as a excuse in my firts experience with Amsoil products. Paid 10$ for membership on Amsoil.com later I decided to go with Amsoil 15w40 pure 100% synthetic oil 4X protection not the signature one. Placed an order of 4x2.5 gallons bucket and one extra 1gallon bottle. This order was picked up from Bensenville Illinois location. Got home and I noticed that something is wrong with the weight of the canisters that oil is stored. Opened the cap to check for the seal and nothing wrong with it. Was sealed as shown in picture. So I took the canister and placed it on a scale and I was totally shocked that I was ripped off by Amsoil company!!! Did anyone ever checked if you all getting the right amount of oil that you paid for??. So look at the pictures. Amsoil 1GALLON said on the bottle in reality you get 0.8GALLONS = 3.4liter not 3.8liter and that is including the weight of the plastic container!!!! Same thing with 2.5 gallon jugs I scaled it too. Instead of 2.5GALLONS I got 2.24GALLONS!!! What the hell is going on with this company?? From 11gallons of oil they ripped me off of at least 5 liters of oil :((( ALL THE SEALS OF THE JUGS ARE INTACT!!!!

    Wow that is interesting.

I thought this was going to be a complaint about using Amzoil that does not comply with bluetec/DPF engines.

Why are you showing us a water jug?

Did you actually weigh say an equal in oil like a gallon of T6 or Mobile one?

I am not defending Amsoil, I don't buy it (have bought their synthetic grease in the past) and even though my brother-in-law is a re-seller, I don't buy it.

BUT I question your method to figure this out.

Look at the scale if you are trying to defend Amsoil practices please address them somewhere else. The scale shows clearly what's the jug weight! I had only water to compare it. By the way water has less volume then Oil and is heavier but still should be at least 3.75 liters. I didn't mention the volume of each but to show the actual weight declared of both and how much both weight.

I agree with Ridgeline don't go by weight. Get a 1/4 (32oz) measuring cup to figure out how much oil is in that jug.
You'll think when they said 1 gallon there should be 1 gallon in the jug. If not what a rip off.

    15/40 oil should have a density of .879 kg/liter or 3.785 liters.
Weight should be about 7.5 pounds per gallon.
Crude oil is 7.2 pounds per gallon stored.
    I Googled this info.

According to the specifications, the Amsoil has a specific density of 0.863, which means that a volume of Amsoil has 0.863 x the weight of same volume of water.

    1 litre of water = 1 kg (2.2 lbs), or 1 gallon of water = 3.785 kg (8.34 lbs)
    1 litre of Amsoil = 0.863 kg (1.9 lbs), 1 gallon of Amsoil = 3.27 kg (7.2 lbs)

What you can try is to weigh the 1 gallon cannister when full, and when completely empty, to eliminate the weight of the cannister itself.
Difference should be 7.2 lbs or 3.27 kg give or take a few grams, because there may be a small amount of oil left after emptying.

Same for the 2.5 gallon cannister. Difference between full and empty should be 8.17 kg or 18 lbs.

Make sure to use scales with enough precision and resolution.

Let us know what you find.

Water is heavier than oil ,mix some together and see which one floats, common sense isn't so common anymore,!

A liter is a measure of volume not weight !
