Learning to polish aluminum 101. Any tips and tricks?? My first time. Do I use wax to keep out the oxidation after polish?

There are some liquid polishes that have a sealer/wax in them like Gords. They don’t seem to make a difference that I have found. If you want a quick polish without sanding, get some Gords, White Diamond or any liquid polish and buff on with a T-shirt, and buff off with a nice terry rag or shop style rag. Makes quick work of oxidation and lasts about 3 to 4 months. Don’t use any paste style polish.

I used to use the blue paste stuff and it works good but you gotta work hard . And nothing wrong with working hard. But, I bought some zephyrs and it’s like the blue stuff only in liquid form and it works wonders!!!!!

heat is your friend when polishing..dont try to polish cold rims...let some heat get in 'em.

I love polishing my own rims and stuff..really get a sense of pride plus you save money paying somebody else to do it...Shogun is right...liquid is much better to use.
