Learning to polish aluminum 101. Any tips and tricks?? My first time. Do I use wax to keep out the oxidation after polish?

There are some liquid polishes that have a sealer/wax in them like Gords. They don’t seem to make a difference that I have found. If you want a quick polish without sanding, get some Gords, White Diamond or any liquid polish and buff on with a T-shirt, and buff off with a nice terry rag or shop style rag. Makes quick work of oxidation and lasts about 3 to 4 months. Don’t use any paste style polish.

A lot more labor intensive. That liquid polish start working immediately. Save you arms and shoulders the grief, trust me. And the liquid goes a lot further. I polished wheels and tanks on a truck a few weeks ago and used 1/3 of a bottle. I would have used half a tub of mother’s for the same thing.

I used to use the blue paste stuff and it works good but you gotta work hard . And nothing wrong with working hard. But, I bought some zephyrs and it’s like the blue stuff only in liquid form and it works wonders!!!!!

I love polishing my own rims and stuff..really get a sense of pride plus you save money paying somebody else to do it...Shogun is right...liquid is much better to use.
