I am currently looking at an older Peterbilt that seems to be in really good condition for it's age(1980 year model). The one thing that makes me have any pause buying it is that it has an aluminum frame. I know that a lot of older trucks, Peterbilts in particular, have aluminum frames. Is there anything I should worry about with this truck that I wouldn't worry about on a steel framed truck? I know the metal fatigues differently. Any help with this is appreciated.

Given your location ,if the truck has been down there it's whole life , it may be clean with zero issues. Up hear in the rust belt if it were a double frame we would be looking for rust or corrosion jacking that causes cracking at the upper or lower flanges length wise. Inspect the rails as you would a steel frame, pay close attention anywhere steel and alumium meet for corrosion.
